Rainbow is a small suburb nestled in between Gerehu and Waigani. It’s popular with working class Papua New Guineans due to its close proximity to the seat of government in Waigani and quick access to downtown Port Moresby through the Baruni backroad.

It is serviced by the City Pharmacy-owned Stop N Shop supermarket, a Mobile service station and a Big Rooster fast food outlet. A local market can be found at the back of the Stop N Shop supermarket, enabling shoppers to buy vegetables, greens and fruits from local gardeners after picking up groceries from the supermarket.

The Port Moresby National High School is a stone-throw away from Rainbow, giving residents options when it comes to education for their children. Next to the school is Nature Park which is home to over 250 animal species including the Bird of Paradise, a perfect weekend getaway for the family.
